Gratitude in Motion: What We’re Thankful For This Year

Gratitude in Motion: What We’re Thankful For This Year

As another year of adventures comes to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on what matters most. For us at Special Journeys, that always comes back to the people who make every trip so special.

We are thankful for our travelers who bring joy, curiosity, and courage to every destination.
We are thankful for caregivers who trust us with their loved ones and cheer them on from home.
We are thankful for chaperones and staff who give their hearts to creating safe, unforgettable experiences.

Every laugh on the bus, every dance in the hotel ballroom, every smile in a group photo reminds us what gratitude truly feels like.

The Joy of Community

This year we traveled near and far together, and every trip brought its own magic.

A traveler on our spring cruise told us, “I never thought I would see the ocean, but now I have new friends who saw it with me.” Moments like that are why we do what we do.

In Branson, one of our long-time chaperones shared that her favorite part was watching new friendships form during breakfast. “They come in quiet on the first morning,” she said, “and by the second day they are saving seats for each other and laughing nonstop.”

That sense of belonging is what makes every journey a family.

Gratitude from Our Team

When we asked our team what they are thankful for this year, their answers came easily.

“I am thankful for the way travelers cheer each other on. It is amazing to see one person’s confidence inspire another.” – Staff Member, Kansas City

“I am thankful for caregivers who trust us completely. Their faith in our team means everything.” – Trip Leader, Midwest Region

“I am thankful for the laughter. Even after hundreds of trips, the laughter still feels brand new.” – Chaperone, Iowa

These words reflect what we feel as a team every day. Gratitude is not just a word at Special Journeys. It is a practice that moves with us from the first itinerary to the last goodbye hug.

Why Gratitude Matters

Travel teaches us so much about thankfulness. It shows us that gratitude lives in the small moments — a helping hand during a walk, a shared meal, a favorite song playing on the bus.

For our travelers, gratitude often sounds like “I did it.” For caregivers, it sounds like “They had the time of their life.” And for us, it is every happy story that comes back after each trip.

We are reminded that the best kind of gratitude is active. It moves. It connects. It keeps growing with every adventure.

Looking Ahead

As we look toward the next year, our hearts are full. There are more places to go, more memories to make, and more moments of connection waiting to happen.

We are deeply grateful for everyone who has shared this journey with us — travelers, caregivers, families, chaperones, and supporters who believe in our mission. Together, we make the world feel a little bigger, a little kinder, and a lot more joyful.

Here’s to another year of adventures, laughter, and gratitude in motion. 💛
